Dance Artist & Choreographer

Miriam Nicholls is an independent dance artist who trained at the Victorian College of the Arts and has worked with companies and choreographers around Australia and overseas. Based in Mparntwe/Alice Springs, she runs the project-based collective Dusty Feet Dance, works as artist-in-residence with Duprada Dance Company, teaches with GUTS Dance and Incite Arts, and regularly collaborates with other artists. Miriam performed with Tracks Dance as part of Darwin Fringe (2024), choreographed and presented the full-length works Music that Moves and Come to the Edge (2022-24), trained in Force Majeure’s Incite masterclasses in Sydney (2023), and was part of STRUT Dance’s Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui workshop intensive in Perth (2022). In February 2024, Miriam travelled to Berlin where she was part of SHARE intensive, learning repertoire from master choreographers. A passionate artist and mum of three kids, Miriam aims to keep developing dance in Central Australia that creates joy, sustainability, connection and inspiration.
