Dusty Feet Dance Collective was founded by Miriam Nicholls and Sila Crosley, following performances in the Desert Festival 2009 with Hayley Michener and Melissa Kerl.

Based at the Alice Springs Youth Centre dance studio, DFDC grew into a regular program of professional dance training, new choreographic work, open platform performance seasons, kids and adults community dance classes, youth projects, interstate tours and guest artist collaborations.

Original work included Bloodwood (2010), Dance Jam (2009-13), In the Red (2012), My Desert is Delicious (with Victoria Chiu and Roland Cox, 2011) and The Tidy Rules of a Comfortable Suburbia (2014). Following a hiatus of motherhood, injury and relocations, Miriam reignited Dusty Feet as a project-based collective in 2021 and has since presented two new works, Come to the Edge (with Strings Attached, 2022) and Music that Moves (with the Wonderland String Quartet, 2023).

Artists of Dusty Feet come from diverse backgrounds, with a shared passion for creating exciting and dynamic contemporary dance in the heart of the country.
